The Colorado Legislature made these allowances after crediting witness testimony and the professional consensus about conversion therapy—namely, that it is harmful, and that the preferred treatment for minors relating to their sexual orientation and gender identity is affirming care (i. e., medical care that helps minors focus on acceptance, support, coping, and identity exploration and development).
