Hamm v. Smith · ¶49

Moore v. Texas, 581 U. S. 1, also involved an Atkins claimant with multiple valid scores: a 74 and a 78. See 581 U. S., at 10.Applying Hall, the Court reasoned that “Moore's score of 74, adjusted for the standard error of measurement, yields a range of 69 to 79,” and “[b]ecause the lower end of Moore's score range falls at or below 70, the [Texas court] had to move on to consider Moore's adaptive functioning” and could not “end the intellectual-disability inquiry, one way or the other, based on [the] IQ score” alone. 581 U. S., at 14–15.
